Grand Master Sebastian Nazario’s Mixed Martial Arts For The Streets ™ founder Grand Master Sebastian Nazario, began his training at the age of 8, when his dad took him to the local gym to learn boxing and wrestling. For many years he enjoyed the rough and tumble of amateur bouts before giving up these sports in favor of the martial arts.
My name is Roberto Carlos Reales Linero, I was born in the city of Barranquilla, located on the North Coast of Colombia, on October 21, 1977. I am the last of 5 siblings.
From an early age I was struck by the martial arts, I saw many movies on TV. At the age of 12 years old, I had the opportunity to start training in Taekwondo at school, which was for a very brief time. A friend invited me to go to a class and learn Shotokan Karate at the University of the Atlantic. This class I really liked I was very emotional about it and I told my parents I wanted to train in Karate but my father told me that I did not learn swimming but eventually I realized that what fascinated me the most was the martial arts and I started my journey in this world of martial arts with karate do.
Those days I lived to the fullest, me and my partner were the youngest and the smallest people in the class and the rest were all big tall adults, that was good for us because when we did kumite, it was as if our life depended on it, we needed to give everything we got to win, my sensei was a woman and as a woman she demanded more of us to be stronger and better than the day before.
When I was in the tenth grade I started to learn Kung Fu with a friend, who gave me the opportunity to meet this incredible Chinese martial arts, since then and I just wanted to learn more and more, for some time I was alternating between karate and kung fu, hours and hours of training day and night nothing really mattered to me but my training. It made me neglect my school, because of that I had to repeat the tenth grade; this was an experience that taught me to be more responsible to undertake all things and bring to fruition.
In 1994 I begin to have contact with the Jeet Kune Do, one of my friends had the book the Tao of Jeet Kune Do by Bruce Lee, I began to read it and follow it, in 1995 I received my bachelor’s degree, I studied a semester of Radio and TV production, three quarters of theology, and finally I got my degree as technical systems and repair computers. In 2000 I married Sharon Crespo I had three children, Loraine, John and Allison my little Darlings, she was born on November 27, the same day that Bruce Lee was born. In 2011 I decided to travel to Bogota to practice Jeet Kune Do, and getting closer to my dream, but I felt that something was missing, because many things that I had read in the book was not happening during learning, so I decided to find another course, another academy of JKD, so in Facebook I met Max Duran who taught Golden Dragon Jeet Kune Do, and started to train with. Then he invited me to a seminar taught by Grand Master Sebastian Nazario, it was an enriching experience because there I found the essence of JKD that evolves every day, nonstop, as they were every day of my training and in 2013 reached the certification Sifu of Golden Dragon Jeet Kune Do and then I returned to the promised land, my soul Barranquilla, to promote Golden Dragon Jeet Kune Do.
As of 2017 it will be 5 years since I had the joy to teach and promote the art and science of Golden Dragon Jeet Kune Do, in several cities in the Caribbean region, and particularly with my students I can see the progress of each one of them.
